Sibling Moment

I caught this sweet moment between Sydney and Myles a few weeks ago where Sydney was "reading" books to Myles. She read to him until he fell asleep on the couch right next to her. Moments like these occur everyday, and they are the ones I cling to when it seems like everyone is fighting, or crying, or whining, or not listening, or when I'm utterly exhausted and parenting seems too big a responsibility. These kids are something special.

Worms!

Catchin' some summer bugs and Sydney runs inside with this gem:

"Mom, I caught a real worm! Can we cook him for dessert?"

A Boy and His Books

From a young age, Ryker has loved books. After we read to him before nap and bed, he still likes to lay in bed and flip through a book on his own...and usually falls asleep like this. I love his love of books!

A Toothless Smile!

A couple of weeks ago, and just two days into summer, Myles lost his first tooth! (Technically, his second, but the first came out when he was 15 months old, so it doesn't really count.) I wasn't home, but Gilby said Myles was playing with something over by the couch, and he thought it might be a bead or something. He asked Myles to put it on the counter and realized it was his tooth! After the blood was cleaned up, Myles snatched up the tooth and ran up to his room where he promptly put it under his pillow. Cute! He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come and was thrilled to find a simple fifty cents in the envelope the next morning. His new tooth is already growing in and the other front one is loose. Our little boy is growing up!
