When she found out she had a present to open, she immediately turned to Myles and said, "Myles, do you want to help me open this?" Proud mama moment.
It was a swimming day at preschool, so Sydney was able to swim with her friends for a couple of hours in the morning. Gilby then brought lunch to school and ate with her in her class. He said she loved it and I'm sure she felt so special.
That evening Grandma and Grandpa came over for homemade pizza, presents, and cake. Sydney got lots of fun gifts including the Hello Kitty nail polish she's been asking for since Valentine's Day!
Ryker loves horses!
Since Grandma and Grandpa are going to be out of town for Myles' birthday, he got to open his presents too. And of course they brought something special for Ryker too!
Myles insisted on having a picture with Gilby and I after seeing Sydney do it.
Sydney had a very specific request for her cake this year - a cherry cookie cake with rainbows, butterflies and flowers on top. We weren't sure what exactly she had in mind, but I found a recipe for a cherry butter cookie, which Gilby made in two circle cake pans (so yummy!). My mom graciously decorated it (with Myles' help), and it turned out super cute!
It was a great day celebrating our girl, and since I heard her declare, "This is the best birthday ever!" I think she felt the same.
