Rapids Game
Friday night we went to the Colorado Rapids (soccer) game. I had been to one game before, but it was a first for the rest of the family. I wasn't sure how the kids would do, but they were actually pretty good and had a great time.
Myles' "funny face."
We ran into one of Gilby's former youth group students who now works at the Rapids stadium selling concessions. He gave Sydney a cotton candy and she was in heaven!
Touch-A-Truck
Saturday morning we went to the Touch-A-Truck event just 10 minutes from our house. There were tons of different types of vehicles - garbage truck, dump truck, milk truck, bus, helicopter, monster truck, fire truck, ambulance, semi truck, horse trailor, and more! Ryker is our truck boy and he loved being so close to all of the big trucks.
Lair o' the Bear
After seeing the trucks, we drove out to Morrison to go hiking at Lair o' the Bear. Now that the kids are getting "older" (does nearly 6, 4, and going on 2 count as older?), I finally feel like we can start doing more stuff like this. It definitely requires a lot of energy from Gilby and I, and doesn't come without frustrations, but when I look at the photos of our kids' (and our) smiling faces, the good outweighs the tough moments.
A castle along our hiking route.
All wet from the rain!
Ice cream stop on the way home!
Broncos Practice
After church on Sunday, we went to Mile High stadium to watch the Broncos first open practice. We stayed for a bit over an hour before the kids had had enough, but it was fun to expose them to the stadium and we all had a good time!
It was nice of Tinkerbell to join us for the game. This is where I again mention that our kids pick out their own clothes!
All in all, a great weekend. I love our little family!
