We started your birthday celebration this weekend with a Mommy-Daughter Donut Date on Saturday morning. There is one particular fountain on the way to preschool that you have been asking to have a picnic at since pretty much the first day you started last January. On Saturday morning, we went to get donuts and took them to the fountain to eat. Being sandwiched between two brothers, both of whom require a lot of our energy, it is rare that you ever get time alone with Daddy or I. We had lots of fun just chatting about what it feels like to be turning four, walking around the pond, and looking at all of the flowers.
Sydney, you have such a cheerful disposition and positive attitude about most things. You are often heard declaring that "today is the best day ever!" You still give lots and lots of compliments and praise your brothers for their accomplishments. You are a joy to be around and are truly growing up so quickly.
I feel like in some ways you are older than your four young years. You fit your role in our family perfectly, and Daddy and I often rely on you to be a good girl and help us out. Just yesterday, Myles wanted to go outside and help Daddy with yard work, and when he ran out the back door instead of going out the front where Daddy was, you said, "I'll go with him!" and ran right out. You understand what is needed and step up to the responsibility almost all of the time. I worry that we are putting too much on you, without intending to, but you genuinely care about your brothers so much that you are usually doing these things without us ever asking anything of you. Myles and Ryker are so lucky to have you, and being that you told me yesterday that Myles is your best friend, and sometimes say that Ryker is your "best boy," I think you feel the same.
