With all of the excitement around school starting, I neglected to share about Myles’ summer experience with Franklin Friends. Franklin Friends is the after school program Myles started last January when our childcare arrangements changed and we needed a place for Myles to be until the end of the workday two days per week. They immediately welcomed him, solicited extra staff to help with some of his needs, and he had a great experience. So, when summer came around, it was an easy decision to enroll him two days per week in the all day summer program they offer. He went on a field trip everyday to places like Denver Zoo, Wildlife Experience, Jungle Quest, several area parks and splash parks, bowling, roller skating, the Butterfly Pavilion and more! Several of these places we had never been to before, and he loved all of them. We’re thankful for the fun summer experience he had with peers from his school who gladly embraced him as a friend. Lots of the older boys in the summer program really took to Myles and helped him out during several of the field trips. Another reason to love his school!
