This past Sunday we participated in our 9th annual
Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk through Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome
Association. Things look a lot different for our family now than they did at
our first walk when Myles was only 5 weeks old, but the energy and the hope we
find at the walk every year has stayed the same. We were lucky this year to
have some new team members join and thankful for the support of others who have
come for several years.
The Gilbert and Beck kiddos.
Myles and the Miyazaki family.
Myles and the Murray kiddos.
Myles and his buddy, Jasper.
Although Gilby is not on regular staff at RMDSA anymore, he
still helped a lot on walk day, which meant that our family was at City Park by
6:30AM. We woke the kids up at 5:30, when it was still dark out, and Ryker
asked, “When does the sun turn on?” It was a chilly morning, but the kids were
troopers and great helpers. After all these years they are transitioning from
needing so much help to now being the ones that are helping.
Cousins!
Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Siri
Our family with cousin Raum.
